Edith Austin Obituary

 

          Edith (Marvine) Austin went home to be with her Lord Jesus on April 5, 2019.

 

She was born September 2, 1928 to Morgan E. Hollis & Elizabeth C. Hairston. She was preceded in death by Charles L. Austin, her husband of fifty-four years. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Janet Jackson, Husband (Ken Jackson) of Conyers, GA, Deborah Ray, Husband (Robert Ray) of Monticello, GA and Penny Joyner, Husband (Keith Joyner) of  Ellenwood, GA, and her grandchildren Eric Jackson, Amanda Osborn, Jonathan Jackson, Crystal Heard, Terry & Bobby Ray, and great grandchildren Daniel, David, Anna, Matthew, Abigail, & Gracie.

She graduated from Hapeville High School (Hapeville, GA) In 1947. Marvine worked at Rhode's furniture store, First National bank  in the Atlanta area after graduating from High School. She loved working with the public and helping people. After having her first child she was a stay at home Mom, she was a beloved homemaker and Mother to her three daughters.  After she had raise her daughters she went back to work as a manager of a Milton Bradley school supply store from which she retired in 1988 and enjoyed her life to the fullest. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Stockbridge, Ga.

The memorial service for her will be held Thursday, April 25th @ 2pm at Zion Baptist Church (Covington, Ga) in the church chapel.
