Anthony Baker was born on Wednesday July 6, 1949, in Manhattan, New York to the late Juanita Brown of Jacksonville, Florida, and the late Benjamin Baker an immigrant from Jamaica.

Anthony grew up and attended schools in Manhattan. Which included Charles E. Hughes High School from where he graduated.

In January 1968 Anthony enlisted in the United States Army, where he served in the Vietnam War.  While in the service he earned a Bronze Star Medal; an Army Commendation Medal; a National Defense Medal; the Vietnam Service Medal with four bronze service stars; a Combat Infantryman Badge 1st award; The Republic of Vietnam campaign ribbon with device and the Sharpshooter Badge with Auto Rifle Bar. Anthony received an

Honorable discharge in January 1974.

He had many passions and hobbies, after the service he took up Karate and earned a Black belt. Anthony also enjoyed playing chess, handball, and paddleball. He reveled in collecting and building model cars and planes. Anthony also had a great love for the game of football, always repping for his NY GIANTS!

Anthony leaves behind to cherish and celebrate his life, his sons Anthony and Rasean Baker, daughters Taheerah Baker and Antionette Strachan, stepson Tomas Burnett and stepdaughter Sheina Pusey. Many grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. Brothers Robert Rutland, Nashid Ali, and Melvin Rutland along with several nieces and a nephew and a host of friends.

A "Giant" hole is left in the hearts of the ones who loved and cherished him
