Stanley “Craig” Bozaich, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on

Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the age of 69, surrounded by his family.

Craig was born and raised in a loving home in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of the late Betty and Stan Bozaich.

Even after moving to Georgia in 1990, his roots in St. Louis continued to run deep. He never stopped being a

devoted St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Blues hockey fan.

Music also played a major role throughout Craig’s life. From playing in bands to building a homemade

recording studio and teaching his children, music was a big part of who he was, an avenue of self-expression,

and a great source of joy.

Craig was a hard worker, never afraid of physical work and proud of being able to keep up with, and often

outwork, people much younger than him. He spent many years working in commercial refrigeration, a field that

matched his hands-on nature and strong work ethic. That determination was simply part of who he was, and

the same drive carried over into the things he loved outside of work, from playing sports to home projects.

More than anything, Craig loved his family.

At the center of that family was Cheryl, his loving and devoted wife. Craig and Cheryl celebrated their 30th

wedding anniversary this year, a milestone that reflected the life they built together through decades of family,

change, challenges, and countless memories. His love for Cheryl remained constant through it all, and she

stayed faithfully by his side through the very end.

His grandchildren were the light of his world. He would have done anything for them, and being their “Paw

Paw” was one of the greatest joys of his life. Even in his final days, he prayed for more time with them, and

their presence continued to bring smiles to his face.

Craig faced significant health challenges during the final years of his life. After several years of progressive

weakness and earlier diagnoses of Guillain-Barré syndrome and CIDP, he was diagnosed with ALS in 2025.

The disease gradually affected his strength, speech, swallowing, and breathing, but it never changed the love

he had for his family or the determination that had always been part of him.

Following a serious illness and hospitalization in August 2026, Craig’s condition declined rapidly. His family

ultimately honored the wishes he had expressed and chose to focus on his comfort and dignity. Even then,

Craig continued to surprise everyone with his strength, giving his family additional time and moments together

that they will always carry with them.

Craig is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his children, Meghan and Justin Street and their children, Caden and

Ryles; Derek and Vanessa Bozaich and their children, Avery and Parker; Courtney Bozaich and her daughter,

Rhyan; Kyle and Erin Dougherty and their children, Quinten and Karlin; Keith Dougherty; Keri Dougherty; and

Danielle and Ethan Hardee and their children, Katarina, Mercedes, Jazlyn, Azaria, and Remi; his siblings, Glo

and Bill Bailey, Cathy and Steve Ormiston, and Robert and Holly Bozaich; two nieces and seven nephews; and

many extended family members and friends who loved him deeply.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, with details to be shared with family and friends.

In Craig’s memory, his family is proud to continue supporting the fight against ALS through The Boz Bunch.

Craig will be deeply missed, but his impact remains in the family he loved, the grandchildren he adored, and

the countless memories, stories, songs, and ballgames that will always bring him back to those who knew him
