Charles John Treiber Jr 74 of Covington, Georgia passed away on September 9, 2021 surrounded by his wife and children.
He was born to Charles and Helen Treiber on May 26, 1947 in Ratot, Hungary. He was always proud of his Hungarian heritage, having fled communist Hungary with his family in 1956.
Charles or Chucky as he was known by his loved ones, is survived by his wife Debra Brown Treiber. Chucky also leaves behind his children Charles John Treiber III, Angel Hurst, Kristeen Rocha, and Laura Elderkin, as well as his loving grandchildren Derek, Adam, Alexandra, Emma, Ethan, Fiona, Nola, Isaac, Dizera, and Charlie. He also leaves his siblings Victor Treiber and Pearl Bowman. He was predeceased by his brother Miklos Treiber.
Chucky served honorably in the Navy as a young man. He worked as a machinist for most of his life. He volunteered for his local fire department for years. While his children were young he volunteered his time coaching soccer and softball for the local youth leagues.
Chucky was a loving family man who delighted in watching his children and grandchildren grow. He was a caretaker who wanted nothing more than to show off his love to his family by helping in any way he could. He was a hard working man who always had a project that he was working on. He was stubborn and strong willed, he knew how to laugh and loved new adventures. He and his wife Debra enjoyed searching out new experiences together. While Chucky and his wife retired to Georgia, they spent most of their lives in Rhode Island. Chucky loved returning to Rhode Island as often as he could to surround himself with his family and visit the ocean. Chucky was the kind of man who would do anything to help someone if they needed it. He was the kind of man that brought laughter into the hearts of all who met him.
The family will forgo a funeral per his wishes and will have a celebration of life ceremony next summer for family and friends in Rhode Island.
