Jonathan "jay" LaPointe

December 8, 1955 ~ June 15, 2022 (age 66)


Jonathan “Jay” LaPointe, 66, passed away unexpectantly on June 15, 2022. He was born in Hartford, CT on December 8, 1955 to the late Raymond and Beulah LaPointe. He had a glorious reunion with his wife Candice “Candi” LaPointe, who preceded him in death.

He left to cherish his memory his daughter Karlene LaPointe and Kiel Barkley of Macon, GA, granddaughters Ella Grace Lewis and Gianna Noel-Rae Barkley, mother in love Paula Knight of Macon, GA, siblings Jeff and Eileen LaPointe of Safford, AZ, Andre and George Thorstenson of Granby, CT, Karen LaPointe of Berlin, CT, Paul and Delise Knight of Ft. Valley, GA, Jeff and Cheri Meitz of Hartwell, GA, nephews Kirk Thorstenson and Brett Thorstenson both of Granby, CT and Austin Meitz of Hartwell, GA and niece Katie Meitz of Hartwell, GA, and  Alex Sheaffer of Stone Mountain, GA.

 After growing up in Connecticut, Jay devoted 20 years to the United States Air Force, then owner of Just Horsin’ Around until his retirement. Following his retirement he enjoyed the slower pace of life. You could often find him running late to dates with family and friends or rides on his motorcycle.

Join us for a celebration of life on Saturday July 9, 2022 at 1 o’clock in the afternoon at The Bridge Church, 607 Hulsey Rd, Cleveland, GA. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to to help further the research of spinal muscular atrophy.
