Kenneth Wayne Carter, age 80, of Social Circle, Georgia, passed away on January 22, 2026. He was born on April 11, 1945, in Avon Park, Florida, and graduated from Decatur High School.
Ken was known by family and friends as a huntsman who loved dogs and felt most at home outdoors. He was charismatic, funny, and fun to be around, with a personality that could easily draw people in. He appreciated a simple way of life and found meaning in time spent in nature and with animals.
He is survived by his brother, Chandler Carter, and his nieces, Courtney Bruley and Ashley Held. He was preceded in death by his parents, William "Bill" Carter and Virginia Carter.
In lieu of services, the family invites those who wish to honor Ken's memory to consider a donation to a local animal rescue or dog rescue organization. Services entrusted to Cremation Services of Atlanta and M.A. Boston Mortuary.
