Lance Chapman, Jr

Lance A. Chapman of Winder passed away on Monday, September 25th, 2023 from complications due to cancer. Lance was born in Barboursville, West Virginia, in 1943. He spent his school years in Huntington, West Virginia. After graduation, he served in the US Air Force, working with the Minuteman Missile Division. After leaving the service, Lance and his wife, Alice, moved to Georgia, where he was employed with both Taylor Instruments, then ABB as a field service technician. Upon retiring, he enjoyed being a part time employee at Hill’s Ace Hardware. Later, he and his wife spent their time traveling, enjoying motor coach travel and rallies, and often volunteering with Georgia State Parks, assisting as campground hosts at parks all around the state. Lance was an active member of St. Anthony’s Episcopal Church in Winder. Lance is survived by his wife of forty seven years, Alice Marie Chapman, of Winder. A memorial service will be held at St. Anthony’s in the near future.
