Marilyn Dolores Edwards Kennedy

Marilyn was born in Brooklyn, NY to Sydney S. Edwards and Sylvia Baker Edwards, both from Barbados,
West Indies. She graduated from Eastern District High School in Brooklyn. In 1953, she married Jonathan
Kennedy, producing one son, Jonathan S. Kennedy.
She was employed by the NY Telephone Company prior to working for the City of New York, Office of the
Mayor from which she retired.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, her sister Gloria Edwards Best, her brother-in-law
Darnley Best Sr. and her nephew, Gloria’s son Darnley Jr. Also preceding her in death was her grand-
daughter, Jacinda S. Kennedy.
Marilyn moved to Georgia to live with her son, in 2000. Where she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
She fought that disorder until her death.
She leaves to mourn her passing granddaughters, Jovona S. Kennedy and Robin N. Howard, two
great grandchildren Nicolas J. Howard and Nia S. Howard, and a daughter-in-law, Robin Scott Kennedy.
Also mourning her passing are many cousins and friends.
