Thomas Hoover Jr. Obituary

Thomas Randall "Randy" Hoover Jr., 63, of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026.

Born on July 8, 1962, in Anchorage, Alaska, Randy lived a life defined by generosity, compassion, and love for the people around him. He enjoyed building things with his hands, but he was best known for his willingness to help others and the joy he found in spending time with the people he loved.

Randy was a man who valued family deeply. He cherished the relationships he built as a son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed sharing laughter, lending a helping hand, and creating memories with those around him. Randy had a playful spirit and a gift for making people smile, especially his nieces and nephews, and his kindness and generosity will be remembered by all who knew him.

Randy was preceded in death by his beloved niece, Bailey, and his beloved life partner, Matty.

He is survived by his parents, Thomas R. Hoover and Nancy J. Hoover; his son, Thomas Randall Hoover III; his daughter, Christy Jackson and her husband, James Jackson; his grandchildren, Rylee Marion Borders and William Robert Jackson; his sister, Deborah A. Collins (Lynn); his brothers, Ronald L. Hoover (Bema) and William "Joseph" Hoover (Rose); along with nine nieces and nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in the memories Randy created and the love he shared throughout his life. His legacy will continue through the family and friends who were blessed to know him.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
