Marvin Jackson was born in Savannah, Georgia to the late Willie and Viola Jackson on October 8, 1945. He moved to Atlanta in the early 1970s to join his cousins that worked in auto detailing. He later went to work for the Ford Motor Company and eventually opened his own auto detailing business. While working here he met a friend that introduced him to his true calling. He began working for Norcross First United Methodist Church and retired after 25 years of service.
Marvin had many friends and family at his church but lost contact over the years after losing his ability to drive. He still receives graduation and wedding invitations from the many children that grew up under his ministry of help.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 40 years, two daughters, Shelley Wells (Gondo), and Cassie Jackson; two granddaughters Danajaiah and Signature; sister, Betty Perry; brother, Walter Jackson; nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
